This is especially true in the case of laptops and palmtops.

These ‘drivers’, whether sound, video or any other, have to be compatible with the operating system to enable the hardware to work to its full capacity. The computer drivers also need to be kept updated as rapid changes and advances are synonymous with this industry and earlier versions may not work well, if at all, on the newer systems.
